About QueerWell

QueerWell is a South African non-profit organisation established to respond to the urgent mental health needs of LGBTQ+ individuals. We believe mental health care is a human right, not a privilege.

We provide free, confidential, and affirming mental health services tailored specifically to the lived experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and gender-diverse people.

Our approach is grounded in dignity, inclusivity, professionalism, and community empowerment.

Provide free and accessible, LGBTIQ+-affirming mental health services through counselling, therapy, and support programmes.

Host safe, stigma-free spaces and digital platforms for engagement, support, and community connection.

Link the community to sensitised, professional care providers and strengthen referral pathways.

Advocate for inclusive laws, policies, and systems that protect and affirm gender and sexual diversity.

Generate and apply evidence, awareness, and partnerships to improve quality, access, and equity in mental health care.
